Dear St. Anthony Bridges to Home Friends:
Heartfelt greetings to all and welcome to new friends Olivia, Coleen, and Debby. We are delighted that you have joined us!
“Nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Anne Frank
Just the fact that you are reading this blog is tribute to your commitment to change the world. Your support of our mission and motto, “changing the world one move at a time”,has a significant impact on not just those we have assisted, but all who have or will ever be affected by that assistance for all of eternity. That is a very profound thought that the small things we do actually have such far-reaching repercussions.
So be alert to God’s Purpose for you. It is easy to become complacent and settle into what we have decided is our purpose in God’s vineyard. But listening to God with a genuine desire to hear Him may toss your expectations into turmoil that will end in a result that will, no doubt, astound you. “Eye has not seen, ear has not heard what God has ready for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9).
At this time, I must make some requests of you. We are in great need of the following:
-a car seat and stroller for a veteran and his family who are expecting a baby girl in June; we are moving this family on Saturday May 6th so must be able to secure these items before then.
-anyone with skill in web development/design to assist with our web site
-anyone with a relationship with an auto dealership; our 2002 Suburban has over 140,000 on it and, although aging gracefully, we must be prudent in planning since she is critical to our mission.
Moves were completed for Alicia and her 4 children, Air Force veteran Darwin, Army veteran Gilbert, and veteran Brian in the last 2 weeks. The pictures you will view below portray what you, through this program, have done to bring rays of light into their darkness, and renew their faith that they are important and they matter greatly. Please click on the arrow to progress forward or backward thru the pictures.
For some their purpose with Bridges to Home is to serve on the move teams, or gather furniture during the week from generous donors, or repair/repaint damaged furniture donated, or the myriad other function central to our operation. For others it is to be the financial support so critical to our ability to continue to operate. Without you we would not have funds to shop for the basic yet essential items to fulfill the needs of those we able blessed to serve. Please join me in thanking Bill & Carol and Jerry for their matching gifts thru their employer, Girl Scout Troop #06294 for donating the profits from sales of cookies, Ann, Pam, Max & Marilyn, Barbara M., and Christine for donating to keep our mission alive and thriving. May you be blessed with the abundance of God’s grace and peace for your generosity.
Please read the email for details on upcoming moves and how your support is vital.
I wish you peace and joy in this life as we seek to do the will of God in all things.
Mary
