Dear St. Anthony Bridges to Home Friends:
Many of you are aware that Richard Rohr is my favorite spiritual author. His insights speak brilliantly to many aspects of faith as we progress through our lives. He brings out truths that surround us but that are often concealed in the secular world in which we live. He challenges us to use the faith always present to us to make a difference in this world crying out for deliverance from pain.
Richard explains:
“… if our framing story tells us that we are free and responsible creatures in a creation made by a good, wise, and loving God, and that our Creator wants us to pursue virtue, collaboration, peace, and mutual care for one another and all living creatures, and that our lives can have profound meaning … then our society will take a radically different direction, and our world will become a very different place.
When we believe in a deep way that life is good, God is good, and humanity is good, we do exciting and imaginative things because we are confident that we are part of a storyline that is going somewhere good. As Christians, we have the opportunity to live the story given to us at the very beginning (Genesis 1), that creation is “good,” even “very good,” and that it is our vocation to nurture and grow such goodness wherever we can.”
As members of St. Anthony Bridges to Home, you are incarnate examples of working diligently in the broader community among people created by a good, wise, and loving God, pursuing the virtues that change society in radical ways. Without a doubt, we are part of the storyline going somewhere good and blessed, and making a difference one move at a time.
We ended the 2023 year with a move for veteran Henry and Bridgett in Hemet, and rang in the New Year with moves for veterans Gary, Jonathan, James, and Demetrius. Please enjoy the pictures in the gallery below
The vocation to nurture and grow goodness prevails in the financial supporters who stabilize our bottom line and enable us to continue providing all of the household items and furniture at no cost to those we assist. Grateful thanks to Max & Marilyn, Mary Ann, Barbara M., Susan & DJ, Mike & Marge, Viad & Ben, Barbara & Dan, Christine F., Susan S., Jenny, DeeAnn, Donna D., JoAnn & Jim, Bob M., Kathy & Bob N., Pat K., Pam S., Robin, and Stacey C.
Please read the email for the next move scheduled. It is a very big move, so please volunteer to assist. We need a large team to complete all that is involved with assisting Josh and his family.
