Dear St. Anthony Bridges to Home Faithful Friends:
Many lessons are learned on each move by us “old folks” who have experienced over 400 moves for Bridges to Home. But a very poignant lesson was learned Saturday April 8th by those of us present and those of you who will share in that move via the pictures in the gallery below. Navy veteran Calvin lives in Barstow, which is beyond our boundaries. So Calvin arranged to come to Cable Airport with a rented truck to pick up the items he needs. Girl Scout Troop 06294 was there waiting for him to assist with and contribute to his move with profits from their cookies sales. There are no words to suitably describe the interaction between Calvin and the girls and their leaders and parents. Their enthusiasm and excitement was contagious as was their pure joy. You will see pictures of them loading the truck and presenting Calvin with the items they purchased for him as well as pictures that each of them drew to thank him for his service.
These young ladies are the future generation who will make a difference in this world in unfathomable ways. They enthusiastically helped Sharon blue tape the items to identify them as Calvin’s, and listened attentively to the story of how Bridges to Home started. They oohed and aahed when Sharon opened the storage units where all of our goods are kept. Hopefully this event will be a spark in their lives that will continue to grow as they do, and kindle into a fire of love and caring for those in need. Those of us present saw a refreshing hope that they will be ambassadors of kindness and compassion not only in programs like this, but throughout the world to all who are in need.
“If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito.”
– Betty Reese
Moves for Jean, a Navy and Coast Guard veteran, and Edward and Sandra, also veterans, were completed on March 25th and April 1st.
I humbly thank God for all of you who continue to walk in faith by financially supporting the mission: Annie, Jenny, Donna K., Max & Marilyn, Christine, Viad & Ben, Gary, Claremont Presbyterian Church, Jim B., Carol & Bill, Jerry, Pat K., and an anonymous donor who purchased 10 $50.00 grocery gift cards to be presented to those we serve. Without you, our journey would be unimaginable; with you the program thrives.
>>May I please inquire if anyone has a connection with an automobile dealership? Our 2002 Suburban is aging gracefully, but it would be prudent to research options.
>>Also, may I please inquire if anyone has skills in web design/maintenance and the desire to advise us with regard to our website?

Sincerest wishes for a happy and holy Easter season abundant in blesssings and peace,
