Warm greetings to you all as we enjoy this delightful fall weather!
My first reaction when I heard about how the Bridges to Home ministry operated was that it could never work. All I saw were the flaws. Where would all of the furniture etc. come from? Who would donate enough money to finance the moves? Why would enough people give up days during the week to arrange for the moves, and Saturday after Saturday to lift and load furniture for people they don’t even know? It's a struggle to help move people we do know. Thank God no one listened to me, and even greater thanks that I didn't heed my own doubts. Dale constantly told me to have faith and not worry about sufficient funds coming in to support the moves, or furniture donations to accommodate needs lists. His and Sharon's faith taught me a multitude of lessons about what true faith is. Having just completed move #377 proves the tremendously successful outcomes trust in God generates. Without St. Anthony Bridges to Home, hundreds of people would not have been given a second chance on their journey in God's vineyard on earth. Hundreds of children's futures were changed because you cared to give them stability in their homes and exposed them to the outpouring of Christian charity and love.
Since the last blog, moves for Verlin, David (who was an ordnance disposal specialist-he diffused IEDs!-in the Army) and his family, Kenyon, Elbert, Abdul, Richard (who was a heavy equipment engineer in the Army), Stephen, and Eric have been the beneficiaries of your generous support and caring. Please enjoy the pictures of these moves in the gallery below.
I humbly thank God for all of you who continue to have faith by financially supporting the ministry-Jenny, Pam, Frank and Tricia, Denise, Phil, Pat K., Ralph, Christine & Jim, Angela, Terrie, Viad & Ben, JoAnn & Jim, and an anonymous donor; and to those heroes who pull and shop and make up the move teams each week-Ron, Martin, Sharon, Ria, Jose, Barbara M., Denise, JoAnn, Ben & Viad, Ellen & Jerry, Pat K., Terrie, Dennis, Christine, Jim, and Tom. Without you, our journey would be unimaginable; with you the ministry thrives.
