INSTRUMENTS OF MERCY
Dear St. Anthony Bridges to Home Friends:
We walk by faith in this organization and are sustained by the Holy Spirit. A substantial benefit that we experience is that we become instruments of God’s mercy to others. Mercy is love that flows from the heart and embraces others. It “feels” others’ poverty as its own, with intent to assuage it. The heart of Jesus takes our misery and transforms it through his mercy. We are called to be his instruments of mercy as He sends us into the world to enter into the wounds of others, wherever we find ourselves and to whomever Christ sends us.
The faithful then receive torrents of mercy and cannot help but radiate it. All of those around you-parents, children, grandchildren, neighbors, friends, coworkers, people next to you in line at the cleaners or grocery store- feel that radiance of mercy and it draws them to you. Opening our hearts to God’s mercy will always receive His warm response. He looks past our brokenness, our wounds, our sins, and doubts, and will always respond generously. He expects the inevitable result-sharing His love and mercy with others. Never fail to ask the Lord for the strength to accomplish our mission and to bear witness courageously to the Gospel.
Since the last blog we have logged 13 moves for veterans, a single Mom, seniors, and a single Dad. God’s mercy flows to these clients abundantly through you. Please enjoy the pictures we gladly share with you. -
